Cassie Lacco uses art to express herself. "A lot of the time words can't express the way I'm feeling but through art I am able to express myself while doing something I really enjoy," Cassie said. She works with all mediums including charcoals, pastels, pencils and paints, although her favourite is oil pastels because you can smudge them and blend them to create the desired effect. Cassie says she really likes colourful pieces that capture your attention and she finds that using lead and charcoal requires a lot more attention to detail. Cassie is inspired by nature and she started out drawing trees and animals years before she began human portraits. "These days I draw for complete enjoyment and I find it both relaxing and calming. My favourite thing I like to draw is my dog Dusty," she said. |
