Patricia Walker was born in Kalgoorlie in 1951 and grew up in the bush, outback stations and the Nullarbor Plain. Drawing has always been a passion and as a young girl she would draw with charcoal. Patricia's Aboriginal name is Naagaja, meaning coastal people. She chooses to use her father's tribal name - he is from the Yamigi tribe from Geraldton, and her mother is a Wongi from Kalgoorlie. Only in the past eight years has she taken painting seriously, now using acrylic, ochre, and water paints. Patricia lives in Boyanup and works in Donnybrook. Her art has been exhibited in the Djinang Kwop Shop, Bunbury Regional Art Galleries and the Wardan Centre at Injidup. |
